About

CARSYS — a Russian maker of professional thickness gauges

Since 2007 we have designed and assembled in Omsk devices that reveal the truth about a paint coating in a fraction of a second. Today CARSYS gauges are used in car inspection, by dealers and on production floors across twelve countries.

Who we are

We make a tool trusted in deals worth millions

CARSYS grew out of car-inspection practice. Appraising cars, we grew tired of hunting for signs of bodywork by hand and built a device that does it accurately, quickly and without guesswork. What began as a fix for our own problem became a professional standard.

We don't resell someone else's product under our own label. The whole device — from the board to the firmware — is designed and assembled by us. That is why we stand behind every reading and know our product down to the last micron.

Trusted by many

Figures that are easier to check than to argue with

In fifteen years the CARSYS gauge has become the standard for car inspectors, dealers and production floors — in Russia and abroad.

History

From the first paint gauge to an industry standard

CARSYS didn't enter a ready market — we built it. Each milestone below is a device, a batch or a country that wasn't there before us.

  1. 2007

    Where it began

Engineers and car inspectors grew tired of hunting for signs of bodywork by hand and set out to build a device that does it in seconds. That is how CARSYS was born.

  2. 2010

The first device — Kraskomer KR-1

The first production model. It marked the start of CARSYS expertise in measuring paint coating thickness.

  3. 2016

Mass production and export to the USA

An unusual move for a Russian maker: we first won over Amazon and eBay in the USA and only then returned home — with a product proven overseas.

  4. 2017

    The DPM-816 flagship

The device that became the face of the brand: it identifies the metal under the coating, tells body filler apart and takes a reading in a fraction of a second.

  5. 2019

State Register and the Russian market

DPM-816 is entered in the Russian State Register of Measuring Instruments (No. 74814-19) and cleared for use where verification is required. The brand moves onto the Russian market in earnest.

  6. 2021

A new generation of the DPM-816

The flagship gets renewed internals, and the range gains new models for different tasks. We build not one lucky model but a system of devices, each covering its own niche — from everyday checks to professional car inspection.

  7. 2023

    A breakthrough: CARSYS AVTOPODBOR

A device built specifically for car inspection arrives. For the first time it does more than measure paint — it detects what gets hidden on resale: magnetic body filler and factory galvanising. The market had nothing of the kind — now it is a CARSYS standard.

  8. 2024

    CARSYS in motorsport

The brand steps into the world of speed: in June 2024 CARSYS sponsored a drift run in Krasnoyarsk. Where the cost of error is highest, the tools must be flawless.

  9. 2025

    The market's choice on Ozon

The updated CARSYS range hits its peak: the AVTOPODBOR model becomes one of the best-selling thickness gauges on Ozon. It adds adjustable sensitivity to magnetic filler and galvanising — accuracy, stability and reliability now tuned by the operator.

  10. 2026

    A new generation of devices

The CARSYS internals are renewed again: the DPM-816 range gains versions with a Russian-language display and detection of magnetic filler and galvanising. A familiar device on the outside — but in capability, essentially new every year.

Innovation

The same body. A new device inside every year

CARSYS devices don't change on the outside for years, and that is deliberate: a proven, familiar form the pros are used to. The internals, though — board, sensor, firmware and algorithms — are renewed every year. A familiar device on the outside, but in capability, essentially new.

Accuracy keeps rising

The measurement algorithms are refined year after year — readings get more precise and repeatable.

Reliability & stability

Each generation is steadier than the last: less spread, more confident work in the field.

Renewed electronics

We improve the board and sensor ourselves — this year’s internals are not last year’s.

New functions & firmware

Magnetic-filler and galvanising detection, adjustable sensitivity — functions arrive with the firmware.

Production

A full cycle in Omsk

We control the whole chain: boards are sourced in Novosibirsk, while soldering, coil winding, firmware and calibration are done at our own production in Omsk. No screwdriver assembly from ready-made modules.

Board mounting & soldering

We assemble and solder the electronics ourselves — build quality starts here.

Winding the sensor coils

The sensor is the heart of the device. We wind the coils in-house, to our own tolerances.

Firmware & tuning

The measurement algorithms are our own, refined and updated over years.

Calibration & control

Every device is calibrated against reference standards before it ships.

Motorsport · 2024

CARSYS on the racetrack

In June 2024 in Krasnoyarsk, CARSYS sponsored a drift run by driver Andrey Savin. Motorsport is an honest stress test: precision, speed and reliability decide everything. We build those same principles into every device.
